12/24/87

The day was December 24, 1987 and I was seven years old and living in Coral Springs, Florida. I’m pretty sure it was a green Christmas there. We had a tradition of always going swimming Christmas day. I think I like my Chicago snow better. :) I had been hoping for a new leotard for my gymnastics class and remember seeing some inflatable instruments in a picture, so I probably asked Santa for those as well.

I had gone to bed that night, but woke up and went to check out if Santa had come. Guaranteed it had only been 5 minutes or so since my parents were under the tree arranging the presents. And that was the day the Santa died.

I don’t know if seven is old to still believe in Santa, but either way, I did. And that’s how I knew he wasn’t real. I read BeTheBoy’s version of his loss of innocence and was inspired. Please to share your own tale!

Next, how I found out The Shire didn’t exist in 2005.

Too busy...need lolcat

Things are hectic here at the casa de me. Not going home soon so I took a break to get some lolcat love. It did not disappoint. I kind of feel like that gray cat and wish I was doing what the orange cat is doing.
